Just having a bit of fun with Bruce (the escaped prisoner minifig from LEGO City Advent Calendar 2011).
So you think you’ve mastered Lesson 1 – patience? Try dining with a group of food bloggers!
I won a secondhand McDonald’s Restaurant (LEGO Town set 3438) on eBay. As a fan of both LEGO and McDonald’s I fell in love with this set the moment I laid eyes on it. It was released in 1999 and only available from LEGO Shop at Home in the US, so I’m stoked to get my hands on this rare set.
The set includes two minifigs – a customer with a car (it’s a Drive Thru after all) and a McDonald’s crew member. No burgers or fries though! The stickers were already applied – the Drive Thru and McDonald’s sign and flags, the crew member’s uniform (so, no – I am not responsible for the crooked uniform ). I hate LEGO stickers because they can be so fiddly to apply perfectly to certain sized/shaped bricks, windows etc.

Jesters at McDonald’s
Clearly, they were just there for the free wi-fi…
McDonald’s Ride Thru
If that doesn’t make you feel like eating McDonald’s, my Portraits of McDonald’s Burgers post at my food blog might…
I downloaded the instructions for set number 10218 at lego.com so I could learn how to build a LEGO toilet. Set 10218 is the modular Pet Shop, which features a toilet.
Here are my first two toilet vignettes (yes, I’m sure there will be more! ).
Too many bananas!
Fortress of solitude
I’ve ordered a Pet Shop via Bricklink. It’s got so many wonderful details. I can’t wait for it to arrive.
Life with a food blogger – Lesson 1: Patience
You learn this one pretty quickly. No matter how ravenously hungry you are, absolutely no eating until the photos have been taken.
This is the first of a series I’ll be doing on “Life with a food blogger”, so there’s more to come.
