LEGO around the web

I’ve been too busy to build. Not good, I know. But there’s been lots of fantastic LEGO web content lately. Here are some of the links I’ve enjoyed recently:

More on the controversial LEGO Friends series. For what it’s worth, I don’t think it was necessary to have a separate “girls” series nor was it necessary to reinvent the minifigs. I’d have preferred the new coloured bricks and sets made for City, with expanded choices for hair and outfits for regular LEGO female minifigs. I will probably buy some of the Friends sets as I like the new parts (and yes, I want the cafe set for the food-related parts).

New modular building 10224 Town Hall revealed – I want this set!

If you’re a LEGO VIP with shop.LEGO.com you’ll have hopefully received an email about the new Mini Modulars. You have to be logged in AND a Lego VIP member to access these because this is an exclusive for LEGO VIPs.

A rough guide to what’s coming up in LEGO for 2012

I’m not a fan of Tolkein/Lord of the Rings, but I know some of you are: LEGO Lord of the Rings Fellowship minifigs revealed at UK Toy Fair

Amazing LEGO sculptures – love the M&Ms, but also check out the KitchenAid mixer and the doughnut!

LEGO moleskine notebooks – out in March 2012. I plan to get one or more of these.

For my friends in Sydney – The Sydney Brickshow is coming, 2 and 3 June 2012 at Powerhouse Museum.
